Hi All

cheers for the mention Oli, but i couldn't/can't make either of the practice days, although i've had the Demon out a few times at North Luffenham so far.

If it happens, will the middle wallop practice be a one or two day thing?

cheers

Yes this event has been cancelled due to Free Flight not being willing to share the 2000 acre site.

Whilst I was not travelling up, I am interested in how this could happen?
Is this type of thing not agreed in advance?
Also, why do freeflight get the right to ban everybody else?

I think one hand didn't know what the other was doing or the deal was brokered by a third party with out the knowledge of all parties.

I think the coordination stuff between the various CDs was left to the last minute...hence the last minute realisation of a problem.

Either way I'm sure we're going to make sure this last minute cancellation stuff doesn't happen again.

Why not go futaba which is the most reliable & poular?

Agree that Futaba appears to be reliable and no doubting it's popularity - (I myself started with the 6EXA and moved up to a CAP9 on 35mhz before buying the spectrum).
However, I want my next radio to be the best I have ever bought as a 'keeper' and is a does everything type of radio, including telemetry.
Its a shame Futaba don't do telemetry and I have seen no plans that it's just around the corner - or does someone know differently?

I know telemetry is not F5d legal at the moment, - I have a unilog for that and far more practical becuase you just cannot glance at the screen when flying
However, I do fly loads of stuff, slope, thermal, ic, edf etc and it would be good to know even just rx metrics for peace of mind.
Weatronics are FHSS like Futaba and I am impressed with their attitude to full resilience, i.e. dual tx and rx aerials and circuitry.
Also I like features like the telemetry for signal strength is audible through an earpeace and all data is saved on a micro SD card that slots into the module. - neat solutions.
Plus its very popular in jet circles and probably for a good reason.

Hi all, just had notification that Middle Wallop wont happen now. The local club is loosing more and more of its field and the only part we could fly on is their bit and that would not be fair on them and their already restricted flying times.

Darron R has been looking around but finding somthing near the M4 or somewere in the Midlands easy for everyone to get to is not easy so I suspect the best bet is to possibley get to Whittering on the Saturday and we can all have a shackdown the day before the 1st league event.

The bonus of that is we can all then have a beer Saturday night together and had a good old pre season banter session before all the hard work Sunday :D

In the mean time we will keep trying to find anouther location.

Cheers
